Phonak hearing aids
Phonak's current platforms: EON, Infinio and Lumity
Phonak announced EON on August 24, 2026 as the company's newest platform, built on the HYPERSONIC chip (37% less power than the previous generation). EON became orderable the same day in the United States. For what the HYPERSONIC chip means, what Phonak's manufacturer claims say, and who EON is for, see the Phonak EON launch explainer.
Infinio launched in August 2024, with Infinio Ultra added during 2025 as a refresh carrying the DEEPSONIC AI chip and Spheric Speech Clarity. Lumity (August 2022) is the previous generation and is still widely listed, with Paradise and Marvel behind it on datasheets and veterans' materials.
One thing worth knowing if Auracast matters to you: Lumity's hardware is Bluetooth 4.2 and does not support it. Phonak's own Lumity documentation does not mention LE Audio or Auracast at all, and describes universal Bluetooth Classic streaming rather than branding it as MFi or ASHA.
Phonak technology levels
Phonak numbers its levels 90, 70, 50 and 30, prefixed by the platform letter: L90 on Lumity, and the same four tiers on Infinio. The level sets how much the hearing aid does for you automatically in difficult listening, and it moves the price far more than the physical style does.
| Level | Positioning | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|
| 90 | Premium | The full automatic programme set and the widest access to the platform's processing. |
| 70 | Advanced | Regular social, working and restaurant listening. |
| 50 | Mid | Everyday listening with moderate activity and some noise. |
| 30 | Essential | Quieter routines and predictable environments. |

Phonak CROS options for single-sided hearing loss
For an ear whose hearing cannot be aided, a CROS device worn on that side sends sound across to a hearing aid on the better ear.
- CROS Infinio is the current CROS transmitter, worn on the unaidable side and paired with a compatible Infinio hearing aid.
- CROS Lumity remains listed for the previous generation.
- CROS devices are not sold in performance levels; they pair with whichever level you fit on the better ear.
